
Raíssa Nothaft
PhD in Human Sciences with a concentration in Gender Studies from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), with a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Legal and Social Sciences (Law) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Her academic work focuses on research in intersectionality and public policy. She is the founder and Co-coordinator of the Research and Teaching Center on Public Policy and Intersectionality (NEINTER, 2018–present) and a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Women’s Studies (NEIM/UFBA), working on the Countering the Backlash, Reclaiming Gender Justice project at the University of Sussex, which investigates the backlash against gender equality and the erosion of global gender justice agendas. She also holds a complementary degree, the Attestation d’Études Politiques, from the Institut d’Études Politiques – Sciences Po Rennes. She served as a lecturer in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor’s Program in Gender and Diversity Studies at the Federal University of Bahia (2023–2025), and as a researcher at NUSSERGE/UFSC (2016–2022), MARGENS/UFSC (2017–2020), and NIEM/UFRGS (2012–2016). She was also Assistant Editor of the international interdisciplinary journal INTERthesis (2016–2022).
